Commander's Dinner - Feb. 2nd
Invitations are in the mail to the Annual NGAMA Commander's Dinner to be held on Thursday, February 2nd at the Framingham Sheraton Hotel. Cocktails will be served at 6:00PM, with a Dinner and Program to follow. The Commander's Dinner allows the NGAMA Officers and the Executive Committee to outline their goals and objectives for the upcoming year. Dinner is complimentary. Please RSVP so we can have an accurate count.
NGAMA Conference- April 21
The NGAMA State Conference will he held on Saturday, April 21st at the Framingham Sheraton Hotel. More details regarding the Golf Tournament and Conference Program will soon be announced.

2011 Life Member Luncheon
A luncheon is planned for Life Members of NGAMA on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Hanscom Community Center (formally the Minuteman Club), Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA. A social hour will commence at 1130 hours and lunch will be served at 1230 hours. A speaking program will follow.
The purpose of the luncheon will be an old fashion get-together.
Your choice of meal: Sliced Roast Beef a Champignon w/gravy OR Boston Baked Scrod w/lemon. Entrees served with Rice Pilaf, Green Bean Almandine, mixed green salad, rolls, butter, and choice of coffee or tea.
Member cost of the luncheon is $15.00; Non-Member is $20.00 Please respond by filling out the coupon below.

Massachusetts Plays an Active Role at NGAUS 2010 Conference
NGAMA Members Elected, Magill Honored
Warm Texas weather and warm Texas hospitality greeted the 33 Massachusetts attendees to the 132nd NGAUS Conference held in Austin, Texas. The conference was attended by 4,700 people including 1,900 exhibitors. Among the speakers addressing the Conference was Gen. Craig McKinley, Chief of the National Guard Bureau, ADM James Winnefeld, Commander of the U.S. Northern Command, Congressman Chet Edwards of Texas, and Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska.
NGAMA’s Presence
Maj. Gen. Frank Vavalva, the Adjutant General of Delaware was elected the new Chairman of the NGUAS Board of Directors. Congratulations go out to two NGAMA members who were elected to the NGAUS Board. Col Frank McGinn was elected the Area 1 Army representative. Maj. Nikki Ivers was elected the Area 1 Air representative.
LTC Catherine Corkery stepped down from the NGAUS Board after completing nine years of service on the Board.
Col (Ret) Ray Magill, at the time the longest serving member of the NGAUS Board, received the NGAUS Distinguished Service Medal for his contributions to NGAUS and NGAMA. It was also announced that Massachusetts Congresswoman Niki Tsongas will receive the Charles Dick Medal of Merit for her strong support of the National Guard. The Congresswoman’s award will be presented to her in a ceremony to be scheduled.
At the Conference the new inductees into the Legion De Lafayette were recognized. The Legion De Lafayette is designated for major financial contributors to NGAUS. Among those inducted was NGAMA's LTC (Ret) Peter Renaghan. NGAMA sent six Company Grade Officers on orders to the NGAUS Conference. The Company Grade Officers participated in Officer Professional Development classes at the Conference.
Social Events
One of the highlights of the Conference was the Governor's Reception which consisted of a Texas style Bar-ba-que and a rodeo including bronco riding, steers wrestling, and bull riding. A concert given by Rick Trevino followed the rodeo. The Conference also had a Company Grade Mixer, a Warrant Officer Mixer and a Retired/Separated luncheon. As usual, Hospitality Night was also a popular event. The Conference ended with a “Texas Formal” style States Dinner.
Fourteen NGAUS Task Forces also met to discuss strategy and develop future Guard plans.
The National Guard Association of Wisconsin previewed their 2011 NGAUS Conference to be held in Milwaukee.
