Approximately 70 attended the Former Member Luncheon held on October 3, 2012 at the Commons at Hanscom Field Air Force Base. Guest speakers were BG (Ret) John Hammond and Mr. Sean Kelly, WCVB-Channel 5 news reporter.
Recent victories in Congress and the upcoming challenges were the focus of the 107th NGAMA State Conference held on April 21, 2012 at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel.
The National Guard Association of Massachusetts and Major General Joseph Carter, the Adjutant General recently announced the awarding of four $1,000 college scholarships. The scholarship recipients are:
- Angela Bethoney from Somerset
- Kelsey Finnell from Bernardston
- Christopher Pond from Braintree
- Thomas Simon from Pembroke

The annual NGAMA Golf tournament was held at the juniper Golf Course in Northborough MA. This years Commanders cup winners belongs to the 26th Yankee Brigade from left to right Major Christopher Hoffman, CPT Nick Bessette, SFC John Dankievitch, CPT Kevin Callahan.
More than 100 people attended the annual NGAUS/National Guard Bureau Legislative Workshop at the National Guard Memorial, the NGAUS headquarters in Washington, D.C. The purpose of the workshop is to give legislative liaison officers ideas on how better to engage with their members of Congress to get legislation passed that is beneficial to the Guard. Rep. Tim Walz, D-Minn., co-chairmen of the House National Guard Caucus spoke. Also speaking was Gen. Craig R. McKinley, the NGB Chief, Lt Gen. Harry “Bud” Wyatt, the director of the Air Guard and Maj. Gen Tim Kadavy, the deputy director of the Army Guard. Members of NGAMA who attended are pictured with Senator Scott Brown.
