The NGAMA Executive Committee has some very important updates to share, so we ask that you please read this entire update carefully.

2021 NGAMA State Conference is CANCELLED

For several reasons, and in consultation with the Adjutant General, the Executive Committee has decided to cancel an in-person conference for the 2021 calendar year. Because of continuing COVID-19 capacity limits, the cancellation of the statewide OPD, and other logistical hurdles, it has become extremely challenging to conduct an in-person conference during our normal spring timeframe. The Executive Committee will communicate any resolutions to the membership and hold an electronic vote during the month of May.

The Executive Committee is exploring opportunities to hold a social gathering in the Fall when COVID-19 restrictions are expected to ease.

2021 ELECTIONS-Member Comment Period

During its March meeting, the Executive Committee proposed canceling the 2021 NGAMA Officer Elections and keeping the current Executive Committee Members in place until the membership is able to hold an in-person election. Without a State conference this year, conducting the annual business of NGAMA will certainly be challenging.  More importantly, with the cancellation of Boston 2020, and other annual events being cancelled or held virtually, the Executive Committee has had insufficient opportunity to execute the duties of their office. Therefore, a change of leadership might further delay progress on the Association’s initiatives and legislative agenda.

The Executive Committee recommends canceling the 2021 Officer Elections and keeping all officers in place until the next in-person conference. As part of its due diligence, the Committee is soliciting input from the Association’s membership through an Open Comment Period, which will run from Monday, March 15 to Tuesday, March 30, 2021.

If you have concerns with the recommendations of the Executive committee or if you have questions, please leave your comments below.Comments will post to the website, however, there may be a delay due to anti-spam filters.
