We had seventy life members signed up to attend our annual luncheon at the Commons at Hanscom AFB. Unfortunately due to the severe weather we experienced that day, thirteen could make it. Still this represented the largest response we experienced in several years. Several members had never attended but expressed that they were already looking forward to next years’ event.

The principal speaker, COL Frank Magurn talked about the past, present and future of the Massachusetts National Guard. LTC (Ret) Robert Swartz who hosted the event spoke on his recent experience attending the NGAUS Conference in Nashville. BG Frank LaBollita spoke on upcoming National Guard events going on in the Guard family. He also mentioned that to all those that wore the 26th YD patch ought to join the YDVA. Also in attendance for the first time was LtCol Sean Halbrook the NGAMA President and the Association Executive Director Augie Grace.

Please plan on attending next years’ event to be held at the Commons sometime late September early October.

Thanks for coming, it was a great event.

LTC (Ret) Robert Swartz
